Report on Sustainable Landscapes Workshop is released
The report of the Workshop “Sustainable Landscapes: reconciliating rural development and environmental conservation”, held on March 25th and 26th, was released this week in Portuguese and English. The event, organized by IIS in partnership with Embrapa, NGI and PUC-Rio, with the support of Norad, involved 25 lectures and 42 participants from 17 institutions and different countries.
The document provides the resume of each lecture and also a brief of the discussions, where tools such as biochar and the financial strategies for sustainable landscapes have been addressed, and also several case studies on forest restoration and low carbon farming. The next edition of the workshop will be held Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden in 2016.
