Importance and benefits of conserving Atlantic Forest
The Atlantic Forest is one of the most biodiverse biomes in the world and has extreme environmental importance for the regulation of climate and water supply in the region and surroundings. It also contributes to the economic development through tourism and the production of fibers, wood, oils and other resources, in addition to its historical and cultural value, with traditional communities full of history.
May 27 is the Atlantic Forest Day and IIS pays tribute to the importance of this Brazilian biome and its conservation.
