IIS joins Brazilian Alliance on Climate, Forests and Agriculture
The International Institute for Sustainable recently formalized its membership to the Brazilian Alliance on Climate, Forests and Agriculture, an initiative dedicated to join efforts of different sectors of society to leverage the brazilian sustainability agenda at COP21, in Paris. Companies, business associations and civil society organizations compose the more than 80 participants of this action.
The themes of the Alliance include discussions to propose public policies and financial mechanisms to stimulate low carbon agriculture, livestock and forestry. The Alliance aims to contribute to ending deforestation and illegal exploitation on forests, as well as expansion of food production, forest products and bioenergy in a competitive and sustainable manner.
