Susan de Oliveira
Researcher
Susan holds a PhD in International Relations from the University of Brasília (UnB), in the area of International and Comparative Politics. She was a visiting researcher at Columbia University/School of International and Public Affairs (USA) and at the Universidad de Granada (Spain). Since 2014, she has been a professor and researcher at UnB and coordinates the research and extension project “Observatory of Global Competitiveness in Agribusiness”.
She has over fifteen years of professional experience in the fields of international trade, global value chains, preferential trade agreements and international political economy, with publications in these areas. She has worked as Trade Policy Officer at the Canadian Embassy, and has provided consultancy services to White & Case LLP and the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA).
At IIS, she is a postdoctoral researcher in international trade, working mainly on the TRADE Hub project, focusing on the impacts, risks and benefits associated with trade in agricultural commodities, in particular those linked to biodiversity conservation.
