Julia Niemeyer
Reseacher
Julia is a biologist, graduated from the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO), M.Sc. and Ph.D in Ecology from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She also has a Master 1 degree in Functional, Behavioral and Evolutive Ecology (EFCE) from the Rennes 1 University, France. She has experience with ecosystem services and biodiversity modelling, and with geospatial analysis in GIS, R and GEE environments. Her research focuses on the effects of global change on socio-environmental security and on systematic planning for ecosystem conservation and restoration, aiming at informing decision-making on environmental policy. At IIS, she acts as a specialist in Geographical Information Systems, Remote Sensing and Spatial Analyses.
