Feasibility analysis of compensation scenarios for residual impacts on biodiversity at Norsk Hydro’s bauxite mine in Paragominas – PA
The project aims to analyze the feasibility of scenarios for offsetting impacts on biodiversity arising from Norsk Hydro’s bauxite mining activities in Paragominas – PA, based on the best available science, based on the theoretical-practical accumulation developed by the organization and by a process of cooperation and engagement of the company with strategic actors in the project region.
These scenarios will consider the two compensation possibilities identified by Hydro in its Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP): (i) recovery of local biodiversity; and (ii) conservation of forest remnants.
