Agroforestry Systems in the Atlantic Forest (SiAMA)
SiAMA (Agroforestry Systems in the Atlantic Forest) project aims to create technical and institutional incentives to promote the adoption of Agroforestry Systems (AFS) in the Atlantic Forest as a regional development strategy, to conserve the biome’s biodiversity and contributing to combat poverty. Lead by Agroicone along with the Green Initiative and the Safe Harbor Defense Movement (MDPS), the project started in June 2021 and is funded by the UK PACT (Partnering for Accelerated Climate Transitions).
IIS is partner in the development of a comparative study of Agroforestry experiences in Brazilian states, supporting Agroicone in the internal structuring of reference materials for other project activities, as well as external publications. The study consists in two products:
• Survey of more than 100 relevant studies in Agroforestry.
• Comparative study of 3 experiences selected by Agroicone, in agroforestry Brazilian states.
