CSRio Seminar: “Reporting and Verification – MRV of Brazil’s Commitments to the Paris Agreement”.
On October 10, we received Prof. Emílio La Rovere “, who presented the theme “Reporting and Verification – MRV of Brazil’s Commitments to the Paris Agreement “, where he addressed climate change and its impacts on the environment, society and public policy.
Emílio Lèbre La Rovere, Graduated in Electrical and Industrial Engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (1975), in Economics from UFRJ – Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1976), Master in Systems Engineering and Computation from COPPE / UFRJ (1977) and PhD in Economic Techniques, Forecasting, Prospective from the École des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales de Paris (1980). Worked in the energy area of FINEP – Financier of Studies and Projects – from 1975 to 1988. Full Professor of PPE – Energy Planning Program, coordinator of the Interdisciplinary Laboratory of Environment and Climate Center – Center for Integrated Studies on Environment and Climate Change at COPPE / UFRJ. Since 1992, he has participated in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) which received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 in conjunction with Al Gore. He participated in the High Level Carbon Price Commission in 2017, coordinated by the Nobel Prize in Economics Joseph Stiglitz and Lord Nicholas Stern, a Carbon Pricing Leadership Partnership initiative launched by the Government of France with the World Bank.
